Arm lift or brachioplasty is a surgical procedure that aims to remove excess of skin and fat from the arms and thus improving their aesthetic appearance.

Why have an arm lift?

As one ages or after significant weight loss, the skin on the arms changes and becomes flabby and sagging. Although exercise can increase the strength and tone of the arm muscles, it will not be able to treat excess skin that has lost elasticity. The arm lift is then the solution to find firm and toned arms.

Goals

The arm lift allows :

  • eliminate excess longitudinal and circumferential skin
  • to refine the arm and strengthen it

Scar

If the excess skin is only longitudinal and slight, it may be limited to a linear scar hidden in the armpit.

If the excess skin and fat is significant, a longitudinal scar is added on the inner side of the arm of varying length depending on the amount of skin to be removed.

The scar is not visible when the arms are in a natural position at the side of the body and tends to become less and less visible over the months.
